she wants to earn money for an ipod and a cell phone. how can she earn money in 2 weeks enough for a ipod at least??________First off, let me disagree with the poster that is telling you what is appropriate for your daughter. My daughter turns 11 next month and already has a cell phone (we have no landline anymore), iPod and a laptop and takes very responsible care of all of them. We live in a very high-tech college town with one of the top-100 public school districts in national rankings. She is not at all uncommon with regards to her equipment in relation to her peers. Even in elementary school she was performing work on her school network from home via the Citrix applications server environment the district operates. What your child needs is very dependent on the environment in which she is immersed. That said, I know of no way for a child to earn the amount of which you speak in the timeframe indicated. My daughter runs a very successful pet-sitting business at this age. That gives her about $40/month in income. It fits her skills nicely, and she gets good referrals because she is very serious about it. Ask yourself and your daughter what skills she has that would be of interest to others. In the online world she would need to provide consulting, something to sell, or interesting content. I doubt she can consult at this age (creating web pages, programming, etc), so let s rule this out. Something to sell: I ve heard of people finding niche markets, doing a little work, and raking in some profit. For example, I read of someone that made gift baskets from hospital bedpans as niche-market gifts. He bought a bunch of bedpans, filled them with stuff, and marketed them on a website as gifts for people in the hospital. Yeah, it was a bit of work, but he made a tidy profit! HOWEVER, you need to draw a lot of eyes to get the number of clicks you need to make this work -- and clicking on your own ads will cause you to get thrown out of the program and you ll forfeit all the money!
