Whatamp;#39;s the best, non-risky way to earn money via investing a lump sum? -

I ve been looking into CDs lately and the earned interest and APY rates look quite lousy in comparison to years ago. So, what s the best way to invest a lump sump of money and get the most of it?________The best non-risk investment for you to make would be to pay off any existing debt that you have including mortgages, credit cards, car loans, etc.. If you have student loans then you will get different opinions on whether or not it is better to pay these off while you have the money or enjoy the low interest rates associated with student loans. After that there are a multitude of different investment options. Low risk investments are low-reward investments especially now because interest rates are so low. But some ideas for low risk investing include: CDs (low return) Savings accounts (very low return) Money Markets (very low return) Municipal Bonds (also have tax benefits) IRAs (two types with differing tax implications) Mutual Funds (variable returns usually dependent on market performance)________Beau B gave a good answer. Paying of debt is the ONLY zero risk investment . One part of their answer is incorrect. An IRA is not a KIND of investment. It is a legal SHELL that protects an investment from taxes. The actual investment can be almost anything.________Theres nothing like ZERO RISK investment in investment.________Depends on your time horizon, tolerance for risk, etc. Talk to a financial planner.
